iPhone unlocking: why pay for what’s free?

I just came across this post advertising a £16.99 package for unlocking your iPhone. Odd, considering the original iPhone unlocking software, known as yellowsn0w, is absolutely free. Is there some code-thieving going on here, or is iPhoneUnlocking.com’s package offering a genuine original effort?

Maybe I’m just being cynical, but I get suspicious when I see lots of shiny template graphics surrounding descriptive text like this:

“Our iPhone unlock software is developed using the finest development programs”
